"Climate change is an opportunity for businesses to adopt innovative models, products and services that slow down carbon emission and preserve biodiversity". On Europe Day, Eddie Sembatya, Programme Lead at UGEFA, contributed to a New Vision article about how sustainability has become a relevant topic for businesses and central to ensuring businesses' competitiveness.
Businesses are at the heart of contributing to climate change solutions, as Eddie writes. "There are many units of a business where sustainability can be measured", including in accounting, technology, communications, production and transportation. And, as Eddie adds, sustainability is no longer an option, but a prerequisite for businesses to stay relevant and competitive.
Through the Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator, we continue to see the positive impacts of green SMEs and the development of Uganda's impact investment environment, as Eddie reflects on the article.
This article was in celebration of Europe Day 2021. Thank you on behalf of the UGEFA team to the European Union, specifically to the Delegation of the European Union to Uganda, for their continued commitment towards Uganda's green growth and the UGEFA programme!
